RCI ACTION COMMITTEE Seven Days a Week - Defending Radio Canada International - Canada's Voice to the World |
RCI's Archives Radio Canada International Canada's Voice to the World for 60 Years For the 60th anniversary of Radio Canada International, our domestic English service CBC, and our domestic French service Radio-Canada, have prepared an archive of radio and television excerpts highlighting various historic moments in our 60 year history. As well, Radio Canada International itself has a short history of the service from the first days during the Second World War. It totally omits the work of both the RCI Action Committee (formed in 2001) and its predecessor, the Coalition to Restore Full RCI Funding (formed in 1991). We will get our overworked scribes to get something onto this page soon. In the meantime, here are some links to those radio and television archives: The entire CBC archive of RCI is at Our Voice to the World The entire Radio-Canada archive with French excerpts is at: le Canada à la portée du monde If you'd like to know how little publicized our 60th is at RCI, see our article: RCI's 60th: Almost No Publicity and a New Mandate?: If you have comments, questions or suggestions on how we can protect RCI please get in touch with us at rciaction@yahoo.ca The RCI Action Committee is an inter-union committee that has fought to protect the mandate and programming of RCI, and for years has received generous support from listeners around the world to keep the service on the air.
